How much does MiniMax H3 Max cost
H3 Max Studio · last updated 3 September 2026

How much does MiniMax H3 Max cost on H3 Max Studio is a credit question, not a mystery sticker. One second is 5 platform credits. Extra images after four cost 10 credits each. Each reference video costs 45 credits. Buy packs on the pricing page. This guide only explains the meter.
The meter in one line
How much does MiniMax H3 Max cost on this independent studio is always duration first: 5 credits per second. 5 seconds is 25 credits. 10 seconds is 50. 15 seconds is 75. 480P and 768P are the same rate. Prompt expansion does not change the rate. Dialogue does not change the rate.
Then, if you used extra files:
- Images five and after: 10 credits each.
- Each reference video: 45 credits.
Failed jobs refund the reserved amount when fal or our stack errors. A safety or Acceptable Use block is not that refund.
Checkout, pack names, and card payment live on /pricing/. This article is the meter so you stop guessing in the studio.
Why we bill in credits
Official MiniMax and fal have their own prices. We do not reprint them as if they were ours. H3 Max Studio sells platform credits. You spend those credits on MiniMax H3 Max jobs we send to fal. Yearly checkout can discount packs (20%, 35%, or 50% depending on the offer on the pricing page). Daily generation still uses the same 5-credits-per-second rule.
If a screenshot from another wrapper shows a different number, it is another wrapper.
Duration examples
| Duration | Credits (no add-ons) |
|---|---|
| 5 seconds | 25 |
| 8 seconds | 40 |
| 10 seconds | 50 |
| 12 seconds | 60 |
| 15 seconds | 75 |
A week of six 5-second drafts a day is 150 credits a day before you keep a hero. That is why the prompt guides tell you to test at 5 seconds.
Image add-ons
The first four images in a job are included in the duration reservation. Image to video usually uses one or two (first frame, optional last frame). Those jobs stay on the duration table.
Reference to video can take many stills. The fifth still is +10. The sixth is another +10. Count files before you generate. A 5-second R2V with seven stills is 25 + 30 = 55 credits, still cheaper than two reference videos.
Reference video add-ons
Each attached video is +45 credits, on top of duration. Two 3-second references on a 5-second output is 25 + 90 = 115 credits. Combined reference video is capped at 15 seconds and each clip should be 2–15 seconds. The cap does not make the 45-credit fee go away.
Audio references do not have a separate line in our meter. They still cannot be the only file.

Pay seconds first. Then count stills past four and every reference video.
What does not cost extra
Resolution. Seed. Balanced vs Quality expansion. Turning the safety checker off (you still should not, for policy reasons). Writing a longer prompt. Asking for silence. Asking for a quoted line.
What costs extra is time on the timeline and files past the included stills, plus every reference video.
Refunds and holds
When you click generate, we reserve the estimated credits. If the job fails as a platform error, we release or refund that reservation. If you dislike the take, that is not a refund. Generate again. If Prompt Sift or the safety checker blocks the brief, write another brief.
Do not refresh-spam a running job. You will not get two clips for one reservation, and you may confuse the workspace card.
Commercial use is not a credit SKU
Paid plans and the Acceptable Use Policy cover whether you can use an output commercially. Credits do not buy MiniMax’s brand, other people’s faces, or a license to a song you referenced. You own the rights to the files you upload. We are not MiniMax, Hailuo, or fal.
A cheap week vs an expensive week
Cheap: T2V or I2V, 5-second tests, 768P when you like the still, one 10-second keep.
Expensive: R2V with two videos on every draft, 15-second first tries, six extras stills “just in case.”
The model is the same. The meter is not.
How to estimate before you click
Write the seconds first. Then count stills. Then count reference videos.
- T2V, 5s, no files: 25 credits.
- I2V, 10s, first + last frame: 50 credits.
- R2V, 5s, three stills, one 3s video: 25 + 45 = 70 credits.
- R2V, 15s, six stills, two videos: 75 + 20 + 90 = 185 credits.
If the estimate surprises you, drop a video or cut duration. Do not hope the reservation is “about 25” when you attached two clips.
Subscription credits refresh and do not roll over. Pack balances never expire. Yearly checkout can discount the plan (20% Basic, 35% Pro, 50% Enterprise versus paying the monthly list for a year). None of those billing facts change the 5-credits-per-second meter.
What a “cheap” keep actually costs
A keep is rarely one job. Typical path: three 5-second wording tests (75), one 10-second take you like (50), maybe a last-frame I2V rerun (50). That is 175 credits for one hero, still cheaper than two 15-second R2V experiments with leftover videos attached.
Budget the week, not the click. The pricing page is where you buy. This page is how you stop emptying a pack on reference videos you did not need. If a workspace card shows a hold larger than 25 credits, look at duration and attachments before you assume the meter is broken. It is usually a 15-second job or a reference video you forgot was still on the form.
